Mō te tūranga | What you’ll be doing    

We are recruiting for someone to conduct Dam Surveillance of our dam assets.

You’ll play a crucial role in the management of New Zealand’s most iconic hydro generation dam and civil assets. Your skills will ensure the integrity and reliability of vital generation infrastructure, and your attention to detail and awareness will ensure that condition monitoring and surveillance is effective, supporting sustainable energy generation while safeguarding communities and the environment. 

You’ll contribute to the delivery of Meridian’s Dam Safety Management System and to Dam Safety Regulation Compliance. This includes: 

  • Undertaking dam surveillance activities. 
  • Collecting visual field observations 
  • Data acquisition through physical instrumentation and digital monitoring systems. 
  • Ensure data is accurate and uploaded in a timely manner.  
  • Assisting with surveillance data queries and response 
  • Assisting with dam maintenance and emergency response.

We need an enthusiastic and diligent individual with an eye for detail, and an understanding of the bigger picture when it comes to dam safety and asset management.  You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure integrity of surveillance data, managing H&S, and assisting in surveillance queries and dam safety incidents and emergencies.  

The role is suited to someone who is practical, hands on, and enjoys spending time in the field.
