Dam Safety Engineer/Analyst (Senior to Principal)

This is a great opportunity to add your wealth of dam safety management and dam surveillance experience to DSI’s exciting business and growing value proposition. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior to Principal Dam Safety Engineer or Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis.
As an industry expert, you’ll be providing technical leadership in dam safety and surveillance, as well as conducting and reporting on dam safety reviews and inspections for our key clients. You’ll also be responsible for mentoring and supporting others in the team, reviewing work and identifying areas for technical improvement.
The role integrates many aspects of engineering and science including civil, water infrastructure, geotechnical, geological, structural, instrumentation, hydrological and hydraulics. You will bring high levels of skill through your interpersonal interaction, technical analysis, interpretation and report writing. You’ll work with over 100 assets of diverse designs, settings and purposes (hydropower, water supply, water treatment, flood control, recreation, and heritage).
You will possess specialist expertise in dam safety management and dam surveillance. Dam-break consequence assessment, dam design, construction, hydrology, instrumentation, emergency response and/or risk assessment experience are desirable. You’ll have an engineering, science or similar technical qualification/degree to back up your experience.
As there is plenty of reporting, preparing proposals and collaborating with the team and our clients, strong communication and relationship building skills will be essential to your success.
