- Ability to manage and supervise third-party contractors using independent judgment.

- Ability to travel; varies but typically up to 15%, and mostly to Washington, D.C.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Development and present for approval Development Plans including but not limited to: Project Schedule, Project Proforma, Project Description, Market Analysis, and Construction Budget.
- Manage and provide research and documentation in the delivery of project development plans.
- Present Development Plans to the Executive Vice President of Development and Senior Leadership, including the Company’s Investment Committee for approval of plans.
- Participates in the design process with Architects, in conjunction with Civil, Structural, and MEP design.
- Responsible for timelines, schedules, and budgets for all phases of the development project cycle (predevelopment, construction, and stabilization).
- Manages multiple projects through the permitting, licensing, and approval process.
- Ensures the timely delivery of multiple construction projects while effectively managing an internal team and vendors by delegating work assignments and inspiring and motivating others to perform to their fullest.
- Ensures cost-effective construction by working with the design team throughout the process to achieve a cost-efficient design and identify value engineering opportunities.
- Maintains a high level of communication with each project team to assure all internal and external stakeholders are kept informed on the details of project activities.
- Displays a willingness to take initiative to make decisions, exhibits excellent judgment, effectively articulates reasoning behind decisions made, and includes appropriate stakeholders in the decision-making process.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the areas of Development, Construction Project Management, and/or Owner’s Representation ability to manage and develop individual talent.
- Experience managing complex projects and competing deadlines.
- Proven ability to meet both budget and schedule.
- Experience developing, and assuring adherence to, processes, procedures, and standards.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a real estate-related field – Property Valuation, Real Estate, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Economics, Business, or similar.
- Commercial real estate acumen and ability to teach others.
- Possess a strong reputation in the industry and be viewed as an expert in the space.
- A proficiency in Microsoft Excel and some financial modeling capability.
