Job Description

The Client Strategist:

Client Strategy Department is made up of creative-minded brand leaders. We are part account managers, part brand builders, and part creative strategists. 

 

The Mekanism Client Strategist is a self-assure, collaborative, creative-oriented, problem-solver. They help our NY-based work grow by managing and sustaining current client relationships & projects, while working closely with the Senior Client Strategist to identify additional growth opportunities. 

 

It is the Client Strategist’s job to ensure that Mekanism value (creative, strategy, problem-solving, and beyond) is woven into everything we do on a the day-to-day level. This requires keeping the client happy, helping to hit deadlines and supporting the business overall while making great creative.  You’re expected to learn a ton, make a few mistakes, but ultimately grow into one of the few client leaders at Mekanism.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Be The Go-To Person on all things Pepsi Football and Starbucks (your clients)
    • With the Senior Client Strategist, know this account better than anyone else.  All Mekanistas should feel secure coming to you with any Pepsi Football or Starbucks question. 
    • Stay current on all timelines, client briefings, launch dates & meeting times.
    • Keep the team current on the beverage/energy category & competitor brands.
    • Organize meetings and calls internally and externally, to include agenda beforehand and recap within 24 business hours.

 

  •  Help Senior Client Strategist to manage and lead
    • Be a main point of client & partner contact along with the Senior Client Strategist.
    • Proactively help lead the account across all partner agencies. 
    • Manage daily communication with the team in SF.
    • Work with Senior Client Strategist to uncover creative opportunities for Mekanism to build the Pepsi / Starbucks business.

 

  • Build and Grow Relationships
    • Establish trust and credibility with your client counterpart.
    • Develop strong collaborative, working relationships with the Mekanism creative, social media & production teams. 

 

  • Creative Briefs and Presentation Improvement
    • Author creative brief for all day-to-day projects.
    • Learn the art of planning & building strong presentations, making sure all creative is presented with a clear Mekanism POV.

 

  • Effectively Work Within a Team
    • In every meeting: foster teamwork & productivity; bring something unique.
    • Learn the various arms of production at Mekanism, being able to represent each division to our clients.
    • Manage up to Senior Client Strategist.

 

  • Support Financial Organization and Performance
    • Develop an understanding of estimates & bids across retainer, (social) media & production.
  • Contribute to the Company Strategy
    • Help grow the NY Mekanism office by working on NY based new business development if time allows. 

Qualifications


You must be awesome.

 

You should definitely have a passion for problem solving ,creativity and brands.

 

You could have 3 - 6 years of relevant or not so relevant advertising/marketing experience.
