Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team working remotely based in Chicagoland. Reporting to the Controller, in this role, you will play a key part in ensuring financial accuracy and supporting the organization’s financial operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, has strong analytical skills, and a high attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly review and categorization of bank, credit card transactions, and vendor bills. Communicate with staff to ensure proper GL account and department assignments.
  • Record daily deposit batches from merchant services, performing necessary research and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with the A/R team.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
  • Reconcile accounting data with MX subsidiary transactions on a monthly basis.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of Salesforce Closed-Won Sales with new billings in MedTrainer’s ERP software.
  • Review monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and perform variance analyses.
  • Record bi-weekly payroll accrual journal entries and disbursements for U.S. and Mexico teams.
  • Assist the Controller with month-end close processes and corporate compliance tasks, including federal, state, and local tax filings.
  • Support corporate and operational projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and QuickBooks is required; experience with Salesforce is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote setting with the ability to attend occasional team meet ups and meet deadlines.

Additional Information

Salary $75-85k with full benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and FSA.
