Job Description

Ability Action Australia is continuing to grow in the ACT.  Our multidisciplinary team would welcome another experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner with current Proficient or Advanced level suitability - already confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - who is driven to make a positive impact on the lives of NDIS participants living in the ACT and nearby regional locations in NSW.

On a daily basis you will be:

  • Assisting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
  • Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
  • Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
  • Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths
  • Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners

About you

  • Current suitability - confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - at the Proficient level as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • Report writing experience
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
  • Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector

Qualifications

 

  • Completed a degree level qualification in an allied health discipline
