Company Description

To provide cohesive, confident operational leadership to the ACT team and to further develop and maintain strong sustainable relationships with mlcoa clients and prospective clients, Medical Consultants and the Client Services team. To ensure quality delivery of services without compromise, whilst driving further business growth and profitability of the ACT operations. You will be working as part of the National Management team including driving the national agenda.

  • ensure tools are identified and in place to develop both the team and Specialist Medical Consultants to perform to the maximum 
  • further develop, evaluate and implement the effectiveness of agreed business strategies, designed to increase utilisation and uptake of mlcoa’s services by current, new and prospective clients
  • plan, develop, and conduct appropriate information dissemination forums to support current, new and potential customer relationship and business development objectives. This will include seminars, educational and industry events and social activities 
  • research and acquire knowledge of relevant legislative factors which may impact on expansion of mlcoa’s services and increase business opportunities.
  • develop and submit for approval a State Business Plan/Budget to achieve designated corporate objectives, in consultation with the General Manager NSW 
  • review and evaluate on an ongoing basis State performance and status in accordance with the State Business Plan/Budget and ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve any variances or issues, or to incorporate changes as needed
  • oversee all the operational aspects ensuring the business is running efficiently and that all mlcoa’s processes, procedures and values are being adhered to
  • develop and implement key management-driven strategies to drive further growth of mlcoa’s ACT business
  • ensure that opportunities perceived are profitable and sustainable for the business 
  • ensure corporate legal, financial, accounting, employee relations and policy matters including State compliances are met. This may include, but is  not limited to, monthly financial reporting, setting and controlling budgets ensuring they are within budgetary guidelines, debtor control and analysis of KPIs, data security, privacy and corporate governance/ISO•    management of the relationships with the Specialist Medical Consultants. In conjunction with the Consultant Services team, identifying recruitment of Specialist Medical Consultants, their orientation/training on mlcoa’s processes and protocols, compliance requirements, report quality and timeliness
  • provision of support to Specialist Medical Consultants, ensuring they have all the resources necessary to assist them in their work
  • educate the Specialist Medical Consultants in understanding the ramifications of their decisions and the potential outcomes of their reports
  • predict and implement solutions to problems encountered to ensure Specialist Medical Consultants are assisted to ensure delivery of quality and accurate reports in a timely manner
  • ongoing customer liaison and analysis of customer needs and prediction and suggestion of further use of mlcoa’s suite of services
  • engage the Specialist Medical Consultants, building strong individual relationships, thus ensuring suggestions and advice provided are credible, ethical and most importantly valued and acted upon
  • establish, manage and maintain sustainable quality business relationships with mlcoa’s key account and prospective customers
  • manage the utilisation, supervision and development of state staff to ensure the provision of effective and efficient client services operations in accordance with mlcoa’s designated procedures, quality and service standards
  • inductions, workflow, performance appraisals, associated evaluations and training needs, and leave applications of the team
  • assign, supervise (in accordance with mlcoa’s processes, standards and protocols) and evaluate the daily activities of the Client Services Team to ensure maximum productivity, quality and timeliness is achieved
  • ensure the Client Services Team are fully supported and their requirements to carry out their jobs are met and that they receive ongoing mentoring
  • ensure the team fully understands the operational aspects of the business and the context of the importance of their role in the delivery of excellence in the outcomes related to their works 
  • oversight of the preparation, production and release of individual Specialist Medical Consultant reports
  • ensure customer files are prepared according to mlcoa’s policies and procedures
  • monitoring of report turnaround times ensuring quality practices and processes are met

Qualifications

  • Experience in a senior operational leadership position, preferably in the health industry
  • Understanding of IME/ Medico Legal Services 
  • High degree of commercial and business acumen, strong understand of financial management and budgetary control skills
  • Proven ability to analyze, develop and implement strategies to grow a business 
  • Relationship building with key stakeholders, both internal and external  
  • Development and substantial growth of a business or business unit
