About Position

MeVitae is looking for an exceptional go-getter to join the strong team in a vibrant Start-up atmosphere to take the company worldwide. This is position is crucial and it is a chance to hone your expertise alongside fellow talented professionals, where you'll develop some of the most exciting Big Data software solutions on the market.

MeVitae is seeking a full-time Algorithm Developer to join our development team, whom will help drive changes through MeVitae by creating insights from data and build AI techniques. The ideal candidate is someone who is particularly interested in using AI to understand language, and enjoys designing new ideas and exploring new applications and modifications of existing algorithms. The role will involve the development of software using test driven methodologies and following software development best practices, and so experience with this is beneficial.

We are looking for scientists who are passionate about technology and want to apply technical techniques to solve real-world open-ended problems that haven’t been approached before. You will help develop capabilities for language modelling, predictive modelling, text mining, dimensionality reduction, numerical optimisation, applied mathematical methods and other advanced statistical techniques. You will work on all aspects of the design, development and delivery of enabled solutions including problem definition, data acquisition, data exploration and visualisation, evaluating and comparing metrics, deploying the models, iteratively improving the solution, building the tools for this process etc. You will work with data from diverse structured and unstructured data sources, and various formats including tabular, text and time series.

Duties and Responsibilities

• C# and/or .Net coding, testing, deployment of proprietary web applications

• Identify and understand data sources within the MeVitae business, including structured, unstructured and Big Data

• Design and test algorithms for the automated scoring/shortlisting system

• Guide stakeholders across the group to implement new algorithms and methods based on your work by presenting findings in a clear and confident manner

• Write clean code for use by engineers and other analysts in the organisation

• Recommend and use a variety of tools to deliver analytics based on the data

Requirements

• Interest or experience in information retrieval, natural language processing, machine learning or data mining

• Software development skills in one or more high level languages C#/C/C++/Java or Python/Perl/Shell/R

• Some SQL database experience would be beneficial

• Advanced conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; especially applied to open ended problems
