Job Description
Purpose:
The Quality Engineer Technician ensures customer satisfaction by executing system audits, parts inspections, gage usage, training and monitoring, collecting defective parts data, and provides feedback to production; promoting manufacturing excellence which guarantees Clow Valve is providing life sustaining water products.
Key Performance Indicators:
Sustainability: Quality Auditing
a. Complete 4 finished product audits per month
b. Complete 45 component part audits per month
Employee Experience: Perform 2 Quality based trainings per year for employees
Leadership: Complete 2 Professional development opportunities per year.
Core Functions of Position:
Product Quality (75%): Diligently perform routine and spontaneous finished/component part inspections/audits on vendor material and material produced; analyzing integrity, conformation, and functionality to ensure quality products are being utilized/manufactured. Attentively partner with the production team to understand gauge calibration needs, perform system checks, and/or order needed resources to maintain the quality of the products manufactured. Actively work with the Engineering department to create full life cycle quality testing for finished products to guarantee long term functionality and quality. Partner with appropriate resources to perform root cause data collection activities.
Data Management (20%): Collect and administer quality data metrics and present to quality engineers for further analysis. Actively communicate with the production team via quality reporting measures, Populate MDI boards, communication boards creating awareness of current quality defects vs quality standards/findings. Proactively participate with QC engineers to maintain QMS documentation, work instructions, and customer return investigative/root cause analysis findings.
Professional Development (5%): Actively seek opportunities for professional development amongst the organization. Cohesively partner with the quality team to gain full understanding of all quality aspects and be a knowledgeable supportive resource for all roles. Actively work with the production team to provide at least 2 relevant quality based training sessions per year.
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Microsoft Office Suites
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Blueprint reading a plus
CMM experience with all types of measuring equipment
Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hands
Gauge Calibration tracking software experience a plus
AX knowledge a plus
Education & Experience:
Required:
-H.S Diploma with 2+ years Machine Shop or Quality experience.
Preferred:
-Two year Associate’s degree with 1-2 years in quality or lean process improvement.
