Job Description

SUMMARY

Works directed by the Quality Supervisor to assist with tracking and calibration of M&H Quality Gages as needed.  Works directed by the Quality Supervisor to assist with Receiving Inspection as needed.  Assists the Quality Supervisor with other duties and tasks as directed and completes work in accordance to the McWane Way Principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • 1st Responsibility – Ensuring personal safety and the safety of team members.
  • Proactively promotes The McWane Way principles.
  • Ensuring personal safety and the safety of team members.
  • Wears appropriate PPE, including hearing, foot, hand, head, and eye protection.
  • Assists with maintaining the Gage Tracker calibration system. 
  • Recalls gages as needed for calibration.  Calibrates gages and updates Gage Tracker as needed.
  • Inspects recalled gages for wear and damage.  Notifies the Quality Supervisor of worn or damaged gages.
  • Inventories all M&H gages, including tracking the Work Center, Machine, and/or Personnel to which specific gages are issued.
  • Performs Receiving Inspections as directed by the Quality Supervisor.
  • Documents findings from the Receiving Inspections. 
  • Communicate with Production and/or Purchasing about the status of received parts.            

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE  

  • A High School diploma is required. 
  • Three (3) years of industrial related skill, knowledge, or experience is required.
  • Associate degree in a related field, completion of a vocational or technical school program or equivalent amount of education and experience is preferred.

Language Skills                                                

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

Mathematical Skills                                                     

Ability to work with fractions and decimal equivalents.  To be able to convert fractions to decimals and in reverse.  To be able to convert inches to millimeters and in reverse.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability                                             

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to understand a mechanical drawing and the understand the dimensions and tolerances detailed on that drawing.

Computer Skills                                               

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a basic knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Work Environment
