Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
- Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Wear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
- Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.
- Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments, material or equipment needs.
- Follows detailed job specific instructions to make sure castings are produced in the most efficient manner and to meet customer specifications.
- Conducts daily inspection of equipment.
- Operates three-stage washer, dry off oven, conveyor system, and dip tank for adhesive.
- Loads/unloads 2”-12” wedges on the conveyor system using standard and specialized material handling equipment.
- Operates industrial forklifts along with manual pallet lifting devices.
- Maintains operating levels of cleaners for the wash system and levels for the adhesion dip tanks.
- Loads/unloads castings in pre-heat ovens on special fixtures using special tooling.
- Loads pre-heated castings on patterns/molds and properly prepares equipment for the injection cycle including setting cores in cavity mold correctly.
- Loads/unloads strips of rubber into injection molding machine.
- Operates controls of equipment to maintain set established standards.
- Performs quality checks to include but not limited to the following: Adhesion tests, temperature checks, durometer checks, dimension checks.
- Uses hand tools to perform normal operations of operating equipment.
- Uses hand trimming tools to remove excess rubber from the castings and discard.
- Loads/unloads parts from curing ovens based on temperature, time, and environment requirements.
- Loads/unloads parts into shipping containers in established quantities and sizes.
- Maintains inventory control by properly scanning inventory, marking, and/or labeling.
- Cleans patterns, tooling, molds, fixtures, tanks, and equipment to ensure items are maintained properly.
- Maintains cleanliness of the production area.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Experience in injection molding preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend casting prints, drawings, and formulation requirements. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one on one, small groups, and other employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
