Job Description

Summary:  Provides clerical/administrative support for the Environmental department by providing assistance to other members of the Environmental staff, creating reports and documents, filing, maintaining records and scanning documents.  Additional responsibilities include assisting in recordkeeping, preparing and delivering samples, and providing assistance to other environmental staff as assigned. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may also be assigned.  This position is a full time (minimum 30 hours per week) on-site position.

  • Provides clerical/administrative assistance to members of the Environmental staff as needed.
  • Copies, scans, files, and uploads documents to electronic database
  • Maintains Environmental database records according to record retention schedules.
  • Assists in special projects throughout the Environmental department.
  • Assists in preparing for and coordinating Corporate and Internal Environmental Audits
  • Assists in preparing trainings and presentations on Environmental regulations.
  • Prepares and delivers water and waste samples to the lab.
  • Compiles and interprets environmental data.
  • Assists in preparing quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
  • Assists in implementation of SPCC, SWPP and other environmental plans.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of problems as they arise and fosters positive work relationships.
  • Works in a safe manner and complies with all Company policies, procedures, and practices.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is mostly in an office environment.  The employee is occasionally exposed moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and extreme heat or cold, wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration and moderate to high noise levels.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:   

  • Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point, Outlook)
  • High School Diploma or GED.

 

Computer Skills

  • Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office programs and applications for word processing, email, database management and spreadsheets. 
  • Experience with SharePoint desired.
