M&H Valve in Anniston, AL is in search of a Project Engineer to join our Team. Individual will work in a safety-first, team-orientated environment, managing company projects and initiatives.

The Project Engineer will lead the management and integration of construction projects and improved manufacturing systems, equipment and processes, and will be in charge of planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to make sure they can complete a project within their budget and according to a schedule.

Job Description

  • 1st Responsibility – Ensuring personal safety and the safety of team members.
  • Wears appropriate PPE, which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
  • Proactively promotes The McWane Way
  • Manage in-house projects to include collaboration of design, estimated project costs, RFQ (Request for Quote), installation and commissioning while focused on cost controls and safety requirements.
  • Conducts regular meetings with clients and stakeholders to ensure clarification and meet specific requirements in a timely manner; Documents and reports project progress.
  • Manage outside contractors and in-house maintenance teams if applicable.
  • Delegate tasks to team members according to their individual skill sets, experience and abilities to ensure efficient completion of the project.
  • Supervise capital projects including plant construction; travel may be required throughout U.S.
  • Supports company acquisition efforts.
  • Maintains budgets and make adjustments according to needs as they arise.
  • Tracks performance and analyze the completion of key goals.
  • Provides documentation and assists Operations with training and work instructions for new or modified manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities and changes that will improve products, processes or reduce costs and provide feedback to supervisors and management.
  • Troubleshoots new and existing equipment and processes.
  • Provides technical expertise or support related to manufacturing; recommend effective methods and processes to improve existing operations and safety.

 Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Manufacturing Engineering, Design and Automation, or related technical field preferred. An Associate’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Design, Drafting or related technical field with relevant experience will be considered.
  • At least five (5) years previous work experience in engineering required; maintenance background preferred.
  • Project management experience required; PMP certification, a plus.
  • Possess a working knowledge of electrical controls, both electro - mechanical and PLC hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and plant machinery.
  • Solid understanding of industrial electrical controls, required.
  • Organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of collaboration, time management, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with inventory control and process improvement.
  • Strong time management and analytical skills.
  • Firm understanding of complex mathematical concepts.
  • Proven leadership and strong communication skills.

Language Skills                   

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

 Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with fractions and decimal equivalents; able to convert fractions to decimals and in reverse; able to convert inches to millimeters and in reverse; able to convert inches to millimeters and in reverse. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to understand a mechanical drawing including the dimensions and tolerances detailed on that drawing.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word and related analysis software.
