Job Description
This position will play an important role in ensuring that employees have a safe working environment. Help identify potential safety issues and determine how to change procedures.
Basic Duties Responsibilities:
- Assist the Health & Safety Department in daily implementation and maintenance of activities related to safety.
- Research and interpret safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain an effective Industrial Hygiene Program.
- Monitor facility and processes for adherence to OSHA and corporate guidelines
- Recommend measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accidents and health hazards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain occupational safety and health procedures.
- Audit organizational compliance and develop corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee safety standards for equipment installation and modifications.
- Assist in training and support in all departments.
- Perform root cause analysis and provide guidance toward appropriate corrective actions.
- Any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Work Environment: Industrial facility; will be required to work around molten metal in an industrial setting.
Physical Demands: Standing, walking, or sitting for extending periods of time, light work that may include lifting to 50 lbs.
Position type and expected hours of work: On-site full-time position, work schedule is typically 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, additional hours may be required, and some on call work is possible. Schedule subject to change depending on production schedule.
Travel: Some travel may be required.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years related experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state safety and health standards.
- Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks and provide follow-up in a timely manner.
- Proficient with MS office programs required.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a group.
