Job Description

As part of the Global Experience Design team within McDonald’s Customer Experience (MCX), you’ll help us make sure our omnichannel experiences feel good and work great for the greatest number of people around the world.

You’ll design and lead a new program of advocacy, education and systems that empowers our product teams to develop, deliver and deploy best-in-class experiences for customers and crew of all abilities.

You’ll report into the Director of XD Foundations (a group consisting of accessibility, design systems, and UX writing teams) and be a highly cross-disciplinary leader who works closely with product managers, experience designers, and engineers.

The expected salary range for this role is $149,260-$190,310

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you’ll have deep, demonstrable experience in the following areas:

  • Elevating the quality of experiences through your industry-leading expertise in inclusive design and global accessibility best practices
  • Educating organizations on global accessibility standards, including WCAG and EN 301 549
  • Expansive knowledge of experience design and technical implementation across surfaces and tech stacks (including web, iOS, Android and emerging technologies)
  • Defining, communicating and documenting how designers and developers can apply standards and best practices to omnichannel experiences at a large-scale enterprise
  • Advocating for the importance of accessibility as a value-driver for customers and the business
  • Managing complexity and ambiguity at a global scale while leading through influence, at all levels and across all areas of the business
  • Significant technical understanding of the opportunities and constraints of modern technologies as they apply to permanent, temporary and situational disabilities

You’ll knock our socks off if you have:

  • Led advocacy and education programs for accessibility and inclusive design
  • Experience working in design systems built for customers and enterprise users
  • Worked for a global brand that designs omnichannel commerce experiences that include the built environment

To have obtained these skills, you likely have closer to a decade or more of experience than a few years, but we encourage you to apply if these abilities match yours.
