Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Events Specialist to support the MHQ Conference Center and events held at MHQ. The Events Specialist must provide an unparalleled level of customer service, strong attention to detail and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage meetings and events through the implementation of strategy, delivery of objectives and execution of logistics, while effectively working with clients (employees). Daily interface with clients and oversee all events at MHQ including HU graduations.
- Strong communication, project management and critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of management, written and verbal.
- Work closely with the Conference Center coordinator booking team that schedule the events to ensure all events are executed at a very high level with attention to detail. Provide guidance to this team to improve event execution. Assist with the scheduling/training of this team. Work closely with our catering partner, Agency 123 (in-house event agency), room set up staff and A/V provider to ensure all events and meetings run smoothly.
- Cross train on Conference Center booking role. Ability to adapt to a constantly evolving business and work environment.
- Provide guidance to the team and seamless exchange of information.
- A flexible schedule and the ability to work nights (Latest would be 9pm M-F) is required. (Weekends are required, though infrequent).
- Identify and manage process improvements that will help meetings and events run efficiently and enhance the customer experience in our Conference Center and all events at MHQ.
- Be a great partner with our exclusive catering company, including menu selection, set up and removal of catering. Process all billing for catering services.
- Promote positive team environment as a positive role model, display the Core Values of McDonalds.
- Create/collect customer satisfaction survey for clients to ascertain areas of success and areas of improvement needed.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of technology and/or software solutions. EMS and CVENT knowledge is a plus.
- Create, plan and elevate employee events and experiences within MHQ and our other corporate offices.
- Keep abreast of industry standards and trends related to core responsibilities.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of event planning and execution or leading a conference center and food & beverage experience required.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Hospitality/event planning degree/certificate preferred.
