Job Description

The Global Technology Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Team was established to deliver greater visibility into the cost of technology through active management of our Global Technology investments across multiple technology platforms and products.

This specific role within the Global Technology team offers an individual the opportunity to liaison with the US market to manage, plan, and forecast product costs in a rapid, reliable and efficient manner, with TCO in mind The role is responsible for the processes and technology that support our US Technology Investment. It provides an opportunity to develop skills in the areas of reporting analytics, data management, project financial management, communication, technology/financial systems, influencing and building key relationships. The individual will develop a strong understanding of McDonald’s US Technology business and participate in efforts to drive efficiencies across the entire organization.

Key customers include cross-functional technology teams across the US, US Finance, Global Technology and Finance, and Global Technology Strategy and Planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the US Technology annual planning process ensuring:
    • Consistent data collection with details of projects, spend, resources and spread across all US Technology products
    • Enabling Leadership insights for decision making through the PowerBI Platform
  • Lead the process for managing financial spend and forecast of the US Tech Investment including:
    • Train and support product budget owners to maintain their spend and forecast utilizing the US standardized budget process
    • Lead Monthly leadership financial reviews utilizing PowerBI, with a focus on understanding key components impacting results
    • Improve and maintain a consistent process for product owners to track budget vs. actuals and maintain accurate financial projections
    • Provide forecasts and quarterly billing to Marketing for Digital spend
  • Assist the Department with essential financial activities including:
    • Managing Contract Approvals and Adherence to Budget
    • Partnering with our Workforce Solutions team to ensure adherence to invoicing processes
    • Assisting with manual invoices and team requests
  • Relationship Management
    • Build trust and rapport with key customers; builds strong relationships between teams within US Technology, PMO, Strategy & Planning, Global Technology and related business teams
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the key business processes and systems and identify integration, alignment and improvement opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting with 5+ years’ experience with Multi-Project Financial Management and/or Finance Planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to quickly learn new skills
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers at a variety of levels and across multiple functions
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing priorities
  • Strong understanding of technology cost stack, analytics, and unit costs
  • Ability to deliver high-quality outputs quickly, reliably, and with attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to anticipate customer needs
  • A self-starter that proactively seeks to streamline / optimize processes
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Excel Modeling experience preferred
  • Proficient with Excel, PowerBI and SmartSheet
  • Project Management experience preferred
