Job Description

McDonald’s seeks a Specialist, U.S. Enterprise Communications for its U.S. Business Communications team. This position will support the storytelling effort to strategically advance the U.S. business narrative and drive awareness of key business priorities and a common vision of success among key audiences. If you have experience in and a passion for communications and crafting stories and strategies, this could be the role for you!

This position will be based in Chicago, IL and report directly to the Manager, U.S. Enterprise Communications. You will be a member of the broader North American Impact team.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as an agile communications resource and strategic thought partner for US Enterprise (e.g., US People, North America Impact Supply Chain, Operations) key initiatives and priorities.
  • Support development and editing of written content, presentations, videos, memos, talking points, and other communications materials, as needed; this may include system-wide email messages and remarks/scripts for System meetings, events, webcasts, videos, or Town Halls.
  • Partner with U.S. Business Communications team to plan and execute key System convenings and messages such as Town Halls, webcasts, etc.
  • Identify select Executive Leadership opportunities to bring our narrative and priorities to life externally; outline criteria to ensure clear return on investment.
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor for cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications or similar
  • proven related work experience in a corporate communications role, either in-house or at an agency
  • Experience drafting compelling stories, communications plans and content
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including an ability to convey sophisticated issues in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to drive collaboration
  • Able to work independently, often balancing challenging and changing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail paired with basic project management skills
  • The ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, while being flexible, collaborative and deadline-driven
