Job Description
The Tax Analyst in Global Tax is a key player to support the management of the Company’s tax accounting and financial statement reporting, US Federal and State and Local tax compliance and audits. This role will also focus on implementing technology and efficient processes to streamline the Company’s US tax compliance, audit and provision reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting Tax Accounting Group in preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual US GAAP tax provision: including gathering data, preparing calculations, collaborate with team members within Global Tax Department and Corporate Accounting groups.
- Assist in reviewing international market US GAAP Provision.
- Assist in calculation and preparation of Uncertain Tax Position reserves, memos and analysis.
- Ensure appropriate SOX Documentation throughout Global Tax.
- Assist US Tax Operations in preparation and filing of federal and state/local tax filings: returns: including gathering data, preparing calculations.
- Preparation of State tax audits and notices including gathering information, responding to document requests, drafting filing position memos.
- Assist with state Indirect tax reporting and controversy.
- Perform tax research and document tax positions taken for tax reporting purposes and review/update the Company’s process memos.
- Keep up to date on US (Federal and State) tax law changes impacting McDonald's and work with manager to ensure changes are accurately accounted for in the US tax reporting.
- Identify and assist with the implementation of process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency in the tax compliance and provision areas to modernize our Global Tax function. This includes the automation of current manual work and streamlining processes.
Reporting:
Will report to the Manager of Global Tax Operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting required.
- 2+ years of experience working in the US Domestic (Federal and State/Local) Tax field in either a public accounting or corporate setting.
- Complex analytical and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability and desire to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Strong business and financial acumen and strong communication skills.
- Experience with Word, Excel, Teams, Powerpoint, and Outlook. Alteryx, Data Visualization Tools (e.g., Microsoft PowerBI/Tableau) and other Automation tools is a strong plus.
- Experience with OneSource Suite, including Dataflow, is a strong plus.
