Job Description
Perform a variety of food preparation duties other than cooking, such as preparing cold foods and salads, slicing vegetables, and stocking kitchen for rush periods. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware. Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage as well as code dating of products.
Qualifications
- Ability to listen as well as follow written guidelines: Prep cooks need to be able to hear and understand specific instructions as well as follow all written guidelines related to prepartion of food products.
- Stamina: Everyone in the kitchen works long hours on their feet over hot stoves and grills as well as carry and lift product from one area to another. Stamina is needed.
- Strong Team Player: Prep cooks are part of a team, and are essential to business success. They must be able to communicate clearly with other members.
