Job Description

The role

You will support our Digital Transformation strategy in Romania. Since Mazarine Energy is fully cloud-based, we are not talking about a traditional IT job. Your role is to empower others with technology; IT is your tool. You should work with everyone and deeply understand the business challenges; this will help you design adequate solutions and digitally transform processes and improve the efficiency of our operation. You are required to minimize downtime by working preventive. 

In a digital world, cybersecurity is a key element of success; this is why we invested in cybersecurity at Mazarine Energy. We are using artificial intelligence and a lot of automation in our cybersecurity operations. Your mission is to prevent ‘the bad guys’ from doing any harm to our data or systems. We will provide you with the necessary tools, partners and knowledge to achieve this, all you need is self-confidence, willingness to learn continuously, and a personal interest in cybersecurity news and challenges.

You will manage the IT Department budget in Romania, in coordination with other Departments and the Group IT Manager.

You may be required to perform other duties as required by Romania Country Manager & local Management Team.

You will functionally report to the Group IT Manager in The Netherlands, and you will work with the Group IT Manager in term of objectives and strategy.

It is essential that you connect the dots, and rethink processes and business challenges in a fully digital and data-driven way, backed by a cloud-first, AI and automation vision.

Qualifications

Education and Experience requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. We accept fresh graduates willing to spend time building and improving their digital transformation and IT skills & knowledge*;
  2. Other technical degrees with 3+ years’ experience in the IT/Digital Transformation field;
  3. We will also review applications without degrees providing 5+ years’ experience at least, coupled with relevant IT-related online courses or certifications (through MOOC's for example).

One or multiple technical online tests will be conducted during or after a first interview, mainly to check the candidate’s analytical skills, his digital transformation, cybersecurity and general IT knowledge and willingness to engage on a continues learning journey.

General requirements

  • Fluency in Romanian language is mandatory;
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills;
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving capability with the aptitude to grasp new technologies and tools quickly;
  • The candidate must show willingness to continuously learn and improve his skills in the Digital Transformation, Cybersecurity and IT areas;
  • Being able to solve business challenges and issues through technology.
  • Previous experience or internship in the energy or oil and gas industry is a plus;
  • Good understanding of the most common IT policies and procedures;
  • People management skills;
  • Stress management skills i.e. ability to work under stress.

Technical requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud ecosystem, including Office 365, Azure, Microsoft endpoint management, Azure AD, and Microsoft cybersecurity stack;
  • Experience with endpoints troubleshooting (software and hardware);
  • Should demonstrate a good knowledge of server-side troubleshooting and maintenance for a cloud-based infrastructure (VMs Monitoring, deployment, optimization, automation, security configuration, vulnerabilities detection and remediation, updates management, cost management…);
  • Manage, install and troubleshoot cloud-based database instances (Azure and AWS);
  • Experience with Power BI;
  • Experience with Vulnerability Management;
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of PowerShell;
  • Knowledge of Darktrace, the AI-powered cybersecurity platform, is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Sentinel is a plus;
  • AWS or/and GCP experience is a plus;
  • Familiarity with ITIL is a plus.

*) For fresh graduates, we will consider general knowledge as sufficient, meaning they are comfortable with and understand the technology, the advantages, limitations and possibilities, provided they will spend the necessary time to learn and master these tools later.

This position may require working at weekends and during (public) holidays.
