Platform Support Engineer for a company in the Netherlands

What does a Platform Support Engineer do?
Intake, follow up or coordinate inquiries from our customers that come in through our service channels (email, phone, monitoring);
Be part of a team that ensures compliance with our Service Level Agreements;
Advice, installation and configuration of VPS systems or cloud infrastructures;
Setting up and controlling firewalls, monitoring, backups, SSL certificates, etc;
Testing and releasing OS/Application extensions, upgrades and updates;
Suggesting improvements to improve the quality and performance of platforms;
Collaborating on improvements for internal office automation.
What profile are we looking for?
You have the right background and experience.
A completed MBO/HBO education in the field of computer science. Minimum of 3 years work experience as a support or software engineer with good commandline skills and server knowledge (Ubuntu and Debian).
You are available 32-40 hours/week.
You are customer-, colleague- and service-oriented.
You communicate pleasantly and are an accessible conversation and sparring partner for customers and colleagues. You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both verbally and in writing.
You are analytically strong and sharp.
You keep a close eye on the platforms for uptime and performance. You are able to find the root cause of complex problems and solve them;
You are stress resistant.
You keep a cool head even in complex situations and are still able to prioritize well under time pressure;
You are independent and proactive.
You are a team player, but can also work well independently. You actively seek contact with customers and colleagues to achieve your and our goals.
You are curious, eager to learn and positively critical.

You work from our office in Paramaribo or from home.
We expect you to be available and accessible (planned) outside office hours to solve breakdowns and incidents. (You will alternate this with other colleagues).
These certifications are a big plus, but if you don't have them we will help you get them
Commandline Skills for Linux (Ubuntu/CoreOS);
(Certification for) Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP);
Atlassian products such as Jira and ServiceDesk;
GIT and CI/CD;
Slack (and lots of other tools);
Office365, MS Teams, MS Sharepoint.

How does the recruitment process work?
This job is open for applications until the 10th of March. After that date, we will select 3 or more candidates who will be interviewed by our founder. We will then go through these steps:
First round: Interview by our team in Paramaribo
Second round: We will share a fictional case with you to know how you would go about it
Third round: Interview with our client in the Netherlands
Offer: After the third interview, the best fitting profile will receive an offer
