 About the role and team

Our high profile Employment & Industrial practice is recognised as a market leader and has represented trade unions and individuals in landmark cases. Due to significant growth, we are looking to add a Lawyer to our Sydney office to support client work, manage matters, and assist with client intake.

This is a hands-on role within a dynamic, tight-knit and supportive team. You’ll work across a broad range of employment matters while contributing to a busy and growing practice, including assisting with initial consultations.

You will:

  • Assist in managing matters from inception through to resolution under supervision
  • Draft legal documents, correspondence and advice using established precedents
  • Conduct legal research and analyse legislation and case law
  • Participate in client consultations and provide high-quality, empathetic service
  • Support negotiation strategies, briefing counsel and progressing litigation matters
  • Build relationships with clients, referrers and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment

About you

We’re open to a range of experience levels, but the ideal candidate will bring:

  • A Bachelor of Laws and a current practising certificate
  • Experience in private practice (plaintiff or respondent), ideally in employment law
  • Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • The ability to manage competing deadlines and a busy workload
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with sound judgement

We’re particularly interested in candidates at the upper end of the junior lawyer band, preferably 2-3 years PAE, though we will also consider strong graduates who have completed a structured grad program.
