About the Role:
Join Maurice Blackburn at a time of significant transformation and growth. As our North Injuries Commercial Finance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, driving performance, and uncovering opportunities for our Injuries North practice. You’ll be a trusted advisor to the Injuries North leadership team. You’ll turn financial data into actionable insights, enabling confident decision-making and delivering measurable impact on business performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a strategic commercial partner to the Injuries North leadership team
- Leading financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Preparing and presenting monthly and quarterly performance reports with clear, actionable insights
- Conducting in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Driving cost management, margin improvement, and resource allocation strategies
- Supporting operational leaders with decision support, scenario modelling, and commercial recommendations
- Championing process improvements and adoption of new finance systems
- Building strong relationships across shared services finance and operational teams to ensure alignment and integration.

- You influence key business decisions through clear, evidence-based insights
- Budgets and forecasts are delivered on time and aligned with strategic objectives
- Financial performance reporting is accurate, timely, and actionable
- You are recognised as a trusted commercial advisor who adds value beyond the numbers.
What we’re looking for:
- CA/CPA qualified with strong technical and commercial finance experience
- Big 4 experience highly desirable
- Background as a Financial Analyst or similar analytical role is advantageous
- Proven ability in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and advanced modelling
- Strong business acumen with experience in cost analysis, margin improvement, and KPI alignment
- Exceptional communication skills, you're able to translate complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives
- Ability to influence without authority and build trust with senior stakeholders
- Resilient, agile, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
