What you'll do as a Senior Software Engineer:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our wholesale team in Sydney / Melbourne. Reporting to Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the TaaS application suite.

This is a full-stack, hands-on role focused on delivering new features that align with business needs while ensuring best practices and system resilience. You will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, follow agile methodologies, and build solutions with scalability and reliability in mind.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting multiple instances of the TaaS platform, ensuring high performance and reliability.

This role includes participation in the team’s Level 3 after-hours support roster. However, the business is committed to building resilient, self-healing platforms, and engineering leadership will allocate time to enhance system stability and automation

What you'll need to succeed:

• Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming (OOP).
• 5+ years of professional experience in Java development, with a strong focus on backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with Java 8+, including functional programming, streams, and concurrency.
• Proficiency in Java frameworks such as Spring (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data)
• Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience working with SQL .
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git, GitLab/GitHub), and automated testing frameworks (JUnit).
• Strong understanding of security best practices.
• Experience in performance tuning, profiling, and debugging Java applications.
