Analyst IT Operations(Automation Engineer – Infrastructure)
- Full-time
- Location: India - Hyderabad
Job Description
Mattel India seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to drive infrastructure automation in a regulated, SOX-compliant environment supporting financial systems, supply chain, e-commerce, and global digital operations for iconic toy brands. You will develop and maintain complex scripts and automation solutions to provision, configure, secure, and remediate infrastructure while ensuring full adherence to SOX ITGCs (change controls, access management, logging/auditing, SoD, and audit readiness). This role combines hands-on scripting expertise with 24x5 operations and weekend on-call responsibilities to minimize risks, reduce manual effort, and maintain high availability.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex automation scripts and playbooks for infrastructure tasks (provisioning, patching, configuration drift remediation, backups, access provisioning/de-provisioning, compliance checks) using tools like Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, Bash, or equivalent.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate secure, auditable deployments across hybrid/cloud environments (AWS/Azure, on-prem VMware, etc.), enforcing SOX-compliant baselines and policies.
Automate SOX-required controls and processes, including privileged access management (PAM), user access reviews (UARs), change approvals, segregation of duties (SoD), audit logging, evidence generation, and remediation workflows.
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes (using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git, or ServiceNow integrations) with built-in compliance gates and approvals.
Provide 24x5 support during core hours for automation monitoring, execution, and troubleshooting; participate in weekend on-call rotation for urgent incidents, failover activations, or SOX-critical alerts.
Respond to incidents/alerts, perform automated root-cause fixes where possible, escalate as needed, and contribute to post-incident reviews with SOX-aligned documentation.
Collaborate with Security, Compliance, Audit, Infrastructure, and Dev teams to define automation standards, SLAs, and governance in a SOX/PCI-regulated setup.
Refactor legacy scripts, optimize for efficiency/reliability, and maintain comprehensive documentation (code comments, runbooks, SOX evidence artifacts).
Support annual SOX/PCI audits through automated evidence collection, control validation, and remediation of findings.
Ensure automation aligns with ITIL practices and contributes to operational resilience, disaster recovery, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
3–5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure automation, scripting, and DevOps practices in regulated environments.
Advanced proficiency in scripting for complex infra tasks: Python, PowerShell, Bash/Shell, with proven ability to write reusable, error-handling, and SOX-auditable code.
Strong expertise in automation/IaC tools: Ansible, Terraform, Chef/Puppet (Ansible/Terraform preferred), Git for version control.
Deep understanding of SOX compliance in IT infrastructure: ITGCs, change/access management, logging/auditing, privileged access, UARs, and audit evidence automation.
Experience in 24x5/24x7 operations with on-call (including weekends) for production support, incident triage, and high-availability systems.
Knowledge of infrastructure stack: Windows/Linux servers, VMware, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), networking, storage, firewalls, and PAM tools.
Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, Splunk/Dynatrace for monitoring/ticketing, and CI/CD tools.
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills in a global, regulated context.
