Job Purpose

As a Junior Key Account Manager for the Discounters (Value) channel, you will be at the forefront of one of very dynamic and  growing business segments. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact, working with key accounts to drive sales volume and revenue targets. We are seeking a driven, entrepreneurial individual who can identify and implement strategic business solutions for designated accounts while managing day-to-day customer relationships with a focus on long-term success.

Key Results Areas

  • Achieving sales targets.
  • Effective management of trade marketing budgets.
  • Maximizing POS initiatives for key accounts in the Discounters channel.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities

  • Customer Orders & Sales: Collaborate closely with buyers, external merchandisers, and internal customer service teams to secure orders and execute both short- and long-term sales plans.
  • Forecasting: Utilize internal tools and data sources to manage and refine account forecasts, ensuring maximum sales while optimizing inventory management.
  • Range Planning: Contribute market-driven insights during VLR presentations, helping to develop and implement impactful range plans aligned with the recommendations from the local BA team.
  • Promotional Planning & Trade Execution: Lead the end-to-end promotional process, from planning through to execution, in collaboration with Brand Activation and Sales Support. Take ownership of the promotional budget and drive top-tier in-store and online activations.
  • Regular Store/Market Visits: Organize and conduct regular store visits to assess compliance, competitor activity, and overall execution at the store level.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments, particularly with finance to ensure seamless coordination of accounts receivable (AR) processes, while fostering strong internal relationships.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop in-depth knowledge of retailer and market dynamics in the toy industry. Lead annual account planning efforts, creating long-term strategies that align with our goals for profitable growth.

Skills

  • Ability to manage by influencing, building relationships at all levels, internally and externally
  • Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to challenge effectively
  • Highly analytical with the ability to interpret data and insights
  • Proven ability to work as a team player, utilizing influencing and leadership skills to make positive changes
  • Highly organized but adaptable with a positive attitude to change
  • Experience of problem solving and managing deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent MS Office Skills

Experience

  • Several years’ experience in Sales, working with key accounts
  • Solid account management experience
