Job Title: IT Infrastructure Manager

Hours: Monday – Friday 9.00 – 17:30

Location: B90 

Pay: £45,000 - £60,000 + Bonus

The IT Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for managing & reviewing the IT department and its function, whilst working with the Compliance team to ensure legal compliance with audits and all business activities. They will be responsible for building a plan for the future within the business.

The IT Infrastructure Manager will be a member of the Management Team and work closely with the Leadership Team to determine and execute the IT strategy of the business.

The IT Infrastructure Manager will be:

  • Part of the Management Team
  • Reviewing the structure of the IT department & provide a strategic roadmap to enable business growth
  • Producing and executing a business continuity plan that addresses current and future business needs
  • Managing the IT team by carrying out reviews, team performance reviews and mentoring
  • Managing the IT function within the business which will be responsible for all internal servers, desktops, network, telephony and systems as well as 3rd party applications
  • Ensuring the IT function delivers the highest standards of internal customer service
  • Working to tight deadlines and provide high levels of technical support & compliance within the business environment
  • Overseeing and managing all internal IT projects
  • Creating and maintaining IT KPI targets to ensure strategy is on target
  • Complying with the guidelines, controls and processes in the Quality, Environment & Information Security policies where relevant to the role
  • Working with the Compliance Manager to ensure compliance with all business audits
  • Maintaining the security of all information entrusted to them
  • If requested to undertake a role as part of the ISO committee, at which point additional duties may become applicable

The ideal IT Systems Manager will have experience of:

  • Administering Windows Server technology
  • Administering Virtualisation Platforms, predominantly Hyper-V
  • Supporting highly available SQL Solutions
  • Supporting Microsoft Office365 / SharePoint / AD
  • Administering Azure and Azure-Stack infrastructure
  • Administering Quest AppAssure or similar backup and recovery systems
  • Supporting Data-warehousing and storage technology (SAN / NAS / Software Defined)
  • Administering IT Automation management technology (e.g. System Centre Operations Manager)
  • Administering Linux servers and KVM environments
  • Supporting Software Configuration Management (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
  • Supporting OpenStack or similar cloud management and orchestration platforms
  • Undertaking audits
  • DESIRABLE: Knowledge of delivering secure services into public sector
  • DESIRABLE: Any skills in SDN (e.g. NSX)
  • DESIRABLE: Any skills in scripting / programming
  • DESIRABLE: VM Ware, Fortinet, Cisco
  • DESIRABLE: Working Knowledge of ISO27001, GDPR and ITIL
