Job Description

The RFID Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of RFID systems. The primary focus will be to ensure proper implementation of RFID technology in a manufacturing setting. You will work closely with the IT team to integrate RFID systems with existing infrastructure and provide technical support to end-users. at the Grants Pass MBC Plant as and manages the health and wellbeing of the RFID system.

  • Duties and Responsibilities: 
    • Install, configure, and maintain RFID systems, including hardware and software components.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose RFID system issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
    • Create and update online documentation & Knowledge Base to assist in setup.
    • Understand / communicate complex configuration scenarios both internally and externally.
    •  Conduct RFID system testing and performance optimization.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Investigate discrepancies, determine cause, and take appropriate action.
    • Ensure RFID readers are active and working properly.
    • Work with MBC management, IT, and employees on system issues/questions/concerns.
    • Provide training and support for the system to the plant personnel.

 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and Experience: 

    • High School diploma or GED required.  Degree and/or certification in industrial engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent a plus.
    • Industrial experience in manufacturing process development preferred.
    • Experience in configuration management of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), MES (Manufacturing Execution System) or other similar type systems.
    • RFID experience and hands-on experience with AIDC systems preferred.
    • Background in discrete manufacturing a must, either Ind. Eng. or production scheduling, etc.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Self-directed with ability to work with a minimal guidance.
    • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook)
    • Well organized, good interpersonal skills and a team player.
    • AutoCAD/Inventor knowledge.
    • Excellent communication skills: Verbal and Written.
  • Work Environment: 

    • Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dusts, and cabinet-making related materials.
    • Exposure to hot and cold elements due to non-climate controlled environment.
    • Wearing of Personal Protection Equipment required:  eye and ear protection.

    • Frequent speaking, hearing, near vision, far vision and touch.
  • Physical:         

    • Frequent head/neck static position, rotation, flexion and extension. 
    • Frequent change in torso/back position, frequent stooping, bending and twisting. 
    • Frequent finger dexterity.
    • Frequent simple grasp, firm grasp and wrist flexion. 
    • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and climbing of stairs and ramps.
    • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and carrying.
    • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
    • Must be able to climb step, extension and stationary ladders to a height of 60 feet and perform effectively on a lift that will raise up to 20 feet.
