Job Description

The Senior Director of Infrastructure is responsible for managing the organization's IT infrastructure, which includes planning, designing, implementing, maintaining, operating and supporting all enterprise system platforms, including AS/400, Database, Network, and Cloud Infrastructure as a Service. This Sr. Director must convey a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of infrastructure technologies and best practices. This role will lead an organization through the derisking, transforming, and operating of infrastructure services at the highest level.  The candidate must be adaptive to a high-demand and fast-paced environment while adjusting quickly to changing business dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve infrastructure goals and support business objectives.
  • Analyze industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions and set clear priorities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align infrastructure initiatives with overall business strategy and monitor progress to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire a diverse team and foster an inclusive environment.
  • Continuously assess and improve infrastructure processes to achieve optimal performance.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery and support of infrastructure services through effective service management.
  • Maintain high service uptime and resiliency by implementing robust monitoring, redundancy, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Lead initiatives to modernize and optimize infrastructure platforms, ensuring they are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with business needs.
  • Implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities, including cloud solutions, automation tools, and advanced security measures.
  • Implement a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and optimizing infrastructure processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster innovation by encouraging team members to identify and propose improvements to existing systems and workflows.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to monitor performance and make informed decisions that drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management and related services.
  • Extensive knowledge of network infrastructure, server platforms, identity management, and Azure Cloud technologies.
  • Expertise in IT infrastructure security best practices, compliance requirements, and service management and delivery.
  • Experienced with cloud transformation, identity and network management, and backup and recovery services both in cloud and on-premises.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including data centers, networks, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
  • Strong leadership, management, problem-solving, decision-making skills, and organizational management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with vendor management, contract negotiation, and manufacturing.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments and managing multiple priorities.
  • Must be willing to travel 15% of the year.
