Maintenance Technician - 2nd shift

Job Description

Under direct supervision, performs basic repairs on machinery, electrical, or mechanical or a combination of equipment.  May also perform various routine procedures in the maintenance and repair of the facility.  This includes but is not limited to: building, grounds, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and etc.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Performs entry to mid-level reactive and planned maintenance as directed.
  • Performs basic mechanical and electrical repairs to equipment by some of all of the following duties: dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections, adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments as to sustain and improve operations, repairs or replaces defective parts, reconditions or repairs machine tools.
  • Maintains the grounds and building exterior by performing any one of the following technical disciplines: routine electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
  • Provides support and backup for other members of department as needed by leadership.
  • Assures compliance with housekeeping standards.
  • Performs more advanced functions as a part of training and development.
  • May set up and operate equipment being used to make and repair parts.  Examples would be a lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools.
  • May perform simple welding.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have  Associate’s Degree or 7 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician
  • Sufficient ability to speak, read, and write the English language to follow work instructions, work orders and prepare after action reports.
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts produced.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
  • Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry 25 pounds frequently.
  • Physical strength sufficient to push and pull up to 300 pounds on a roller conveyor frequently.
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to determine wire colors and wire numbers.
  • Sufficient ability to communicate via two way radio, phone, and internet (PC).
  •  Must be comfortable with working on ladders, platform lifts and heights.
  • Must be able to follow all company safety polices including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protection and fall protection.
