Job Description
As the Construction manager for the project, you will manage the overall engineering, construction, installation and commissioning of the asset until commercial operation date under the supervision of the Project Director. The objective is to deliver the asset in line with the Zero Harm objective, within the approved budget, required quality and agreed time table.
Responsibilities not limited to:
- Plan for construction activities (including related logistics) and ensure constructability reviews of the design are carried out at all stages.
- Input construction and logistics constraints into the project execution plan including schedule.
- Ensure proper quality control is exercised on all construction activities and checks as carried out as per inspection plans before constructed parts are hidden.
- Ensure that worker mobilization is properly planned including visa and administrative requirements.
- Responsible for the delivery of the asset, within the approved budget, schedule, quality and project specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate all the design, construction and installation related contracts (the EPCI Contracts, “consent” equipment, local base & accommodation, all related services contracts) from a technical, legal, contractual and commercial perspective.
- Support Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE) activities, policies and objectives of Masdar and compliance with the laws and regulations of the country where the projects are located.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Science or any related field.
- At least 6-8 years of construction experience with an EPC contractor with exposure to global scale and complex energy, technology and utility projects.
- Similar and related experience in international projects, preferably in the region is required.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Knowledge of renewable energy and traditional energy industry.
- Knowledge of utility and international energy business.
- Good understanding of construction sub-contracts, insurance issues, permitting issues, and project scheduling.
- Contract administration and legal skills.
- Excellent English proficiency level and Arabic is a plus.
