Marshall Fleet Solutions are looking for a fully qualified Mechanic to join their Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Aylesford. Reporting into the Vehicle Maintenance Unit Manager, you will be part of a team providing services and maintenance to our customers' fleet of vehicles. Your duties will include:
To undertake comprehensive preventative maintenance and repair standards.
Correct fault diagnosis to ensure replacement parts are fitted correctly and warranty claims are in line with warranty terms.
Ensure full and complete end of shift handover including vehicle on or off road status.
Answer calls and deal with all enquires promptly and in a professional, helpful & proactive manner.
To complete job cards, service sheets, timesheets and any other relevant paperwork in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.
To undertake diagnostic analysis where appropriate.
To build rapport, develop trust and respect from both internal and external customers.
To contribute towards the continuous improvement of processes/methods and operating practices within the VMU.
To ensure the most efficient and highest possible standard of mechanical and electrical repair, preventative maintenance and modification of customer vehicles.
Work as part of the team to maintain, build employee and customer relations to ensure that the workshop operation achieves all set financial and cultural objectives/targets.
The successful candidate must hold a NVQ or C&G and be a fully qualified mechanic. You will be proactive in how you work, enjoy working in a busy environment and be comfortable to work under your own initiative and manage your own time.
You will be required to manage your own paperwork, so attention to detail is essential as are excellent communication skills with external clients. You will be working as part of a team within this busy unit so time management and working to deadlines will also be key to success within this role.
The hours of the role are a mix of early and late shifts (5am-2pm early, 11am-8pm late). Some weekend work and on-call will also be required; generous overtime rates will be paid.
