Job Description

Reporting in to the Head of Operations - Advanced Composites, the Value Stream Manager is responsible for the safe delivery of customer projects within the associated budgeted hours, and to the required quality standards.

Key Tasks

To ensure that all operational tasks are conducted in a safe environment with supporting COSHH, Risk Assessments etc in place.

To ensure that the appropriate number of suitably trained staff are available to meet the business demand.

To ensure that all activities are conducted within the Company Values.

To ensure that budget and all costs are controlled, reported and managed.

To ensure that Continuous Improvement is part of normal business activity including the review of processes and production flow using lean techniques.

To ensure that all required Quality Standards are adhered against, to drive thorough Root Cause Analysis and MRB activities to yield improvement.

To support bid proposal activity as required.

To ensure ITAR compliance relating to information and personnel on the shop floor; this includes visitors.

To support the Team Leaders with any people related topics; this includes PDRs and conducting disciplinary matters as required.

To communicate effectively with all members of the team ensuring that objectives are shared and key stakeholders kept informed.

To liaise with customer representatives and conduct hangar tours as required.





  • Knowledge and qualification in a vocational or specialised field short of degree level ie  ONC / HNC Mechanical / Production Engineering
  • Time served / recognised apprenticeship in related industry / or experienced in a similar role with transferable skills.

  • Ability to deliver results and see commitments through to conclusion.

Due to the nature of our business, all employment is subject to satisfactory references being obtained, attainment of either a SC (Security Check), Disclosure Scotland Criminal Record Check or Foreign Police Check (whichever is applicable depending on duration of UK residency) and, as applicable, a medical assessment. Access to US technical data by employees requires prior Trade Control function approval. Clearance must be carried out against all applicable US export control authorisations.
