Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group invite applicants to undertake a 4 year Apprenticeship scheme based at RAF Brize Norton.
The first 2 years of the apprenticeship will be split between full-time residential learning with the Resource Group Aviation Technical Training (LRTT Ltd) at Cotswold Airport, with accommodation provided locally. The practical hand skills training element will be undertaken at Cotswold Airport including maintenance experience on aircraft. The remainder of the aircraft maintenance experience will be completed at RAF Brize Norton. At the end of these 2 years, candidates will be qualified to EASA Part 66 CAT A1 and have completed the requirements of the Apprenticeship Standards for Aircraft Maintenance fitter / technician (fixed wing).
Candidates will then complete a further 2 years of training to become skilled aircraft fitters in their chosen specialism in either Electrical/Avionic (Electrical/Avionics Fitter) or Mechanical (Airframe/Propulsion Fitter).
Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group work alongside the RAF at Brize Norton as part of the Hercules Integrated Operational Support contract undertaking both scheduled, unscheduled and repairs to the C130J Hercules aircraft.
- 5 GCSEs at Scores 5—9 (A-C) which must include Maths, English and Science
Due to the nature of our business, all employment is subject to satisfactory references being obtained, attainment of either a SC (Security Check), Disclosure Scotland Criminal Record Check or Foreign Police Check (whichever is applicable depending on duration of UK residency) and, as applicable, a medical assessment. Access to US technical data by employees requires prior Trade Control function approval. Clearance must be carried out against all applicable US export control authorisations.
