We work all over the Napa Valley (Geyersville, Oakland, Yountville), and we cater for high-end private parties (birthdays, weddings, and corporate) and winery events (release parties, harvest parties, luncheons) of all sizes. 

Job Description

We are looking for a talented chef to become a part of our hard-working, close-knit team. The ideal candidate will have a solid cooking background; have worked in a variety of restaurants, hotels, and catering; and be passionate about food quality, presentation, as well as, great taste. In this position you will need to be able to follow directions, assist with ordering, work unsupervised, and think on your feet. 

We need a chef who can work well with others, be able to lead events, as well as, interact with clients. We are looking for someone who is passionate about their skills and position; someone who is willing to work hard by putting in the necessary long hours and isn't afraid to "get their hands dirty". 

The right person will bring new ideas to the business (menus, service style, presentation, etc) and grow as we grow.

We know that catering has it's ups and downs/seasonal times and therefore we are offering salaried compensation for our Sous Chef position. No off-season paycheck worries here! 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Ability:

  • Ability to lead staff.
  • Knowledge of food and trends in the food and beverage industry.
  • Organizational skills required.
  • Multi-tasking skills required.
  • Ability to train others on multiple processes, procedures, requirements and regulations.
  • Problem solving skills required.
  • Ability to think quickly and react professionally to guest issues or concerns.

Education or Formal Training:

  • Degree in culinary arts preferred.
  • Must be familiar with California State Health Codes and food safety regulations.

Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in a professional kitchen.

Working Environment:

  • Fast paced professional kitchen
  • Various outdoor venues: festivals, wineries, private residences

Physical Activities:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures within kitchen environment.
