Job Description
Mariner Innovations is seeking a Technical Pre-Sales Engineer to be a key member of our growing Infrastructure and Cloud Practice.
Pre-sales Engineers at Mariner Innovations are involved in all stages of the customer's development lifecycle and are experienced using presentations, email, phone and social media to connect with customers. We are looking for great teammates that can build sales presentations, product/service demonstrations, and educate customers (everyone from developers to product managers to C-level executives) on the best ways to cloud technology. You have the rare combination of technical savviness and business insight and you're looking for a career where you can utilize both. As a Pre-sales Engineer at Mariner Innovations, you will hone each of these skills by advising a diverse set of customers on what is possible through Mariners’ Infrastructure and Cloud products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the sales team to assess client’s needs and resources, and recommend appropriate solutions;
- Provide guidance to potential customers based on need and requirements;
- Drive Proof of Concepts;
- Empathize with customers and quickly discern their true technical needs by asking detailed and clarifying questions and presenting solutions that target those needs;
- Identify strategic sales initiatives based on the customer’s current and future technology needs;
- Prospect and develop new potential partners by researching and responding to new sales engineering requests, following up on leads and qualifying new accounts for our sales partners;
- Deliver technical sales presentations to executive levels of organizations and assist in the preparation of formal proposals and responses;
- Shape a solution definition that maps customer requirements and user stories to Mariner Innovations’ capabilities;
- Answer customer questions including pre-sale and post-sale technical support by phone and email;
- Provide solution design to large customers.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in the software & IT industry focused on business development, strategic alliances and/or partner management.
- 2+ years pre-sales engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree/Diplomas/Certificates in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience/education.
- Demonstrated aptitude for emerging industry trends including analytics, Big Data, AI/ML, cloud migration & modernization, etc.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, analytics, data warehouses, containers, IaaS, PaaS & SaaS.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with people of varying technical skills
- Good network and understanding of Cloud Services.
- Ability to deliver impactful presentations, demonstrations, or technical support.
- Technical Knowledge and experience in solutioning and pricing cloud technologies provided by major Cloud Providers such as Microsoft, Google etc.
- Experience driving and leading a solution strategy, as part of the overall opportunity lifecycle, with an eye on achieving business outcomes.
- Ability to project manage the end-to-end process of crafting the solution to meet customer needs and business objectives.
- Knowledge of business value selling methodologies and practices that successfully convey the value and outcomes the proposed solution will deliver.
- Ability to set clear targets and development plans. Set objectives to achieve those targets.
- Exceptional thought leadership, presentation, and communication skills – both verbal and written (English).
