Job Description

We’re looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our community team supporting people in their own homes across Newham and Tower Hamlets. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide hands-on care to people at the end of life, helping them remain comfortable, dignified and supported in familiar surroundings.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring and assisting with the maintenance of patients’ skin integrity and personal hygiene, observing and supporting nutritional needs, attending to comfort requirements to facilitate rest and sleep, providing mobility support, and maintaining a clean and orderly care environment.
- Salary: £25,272 per annum (pro rata) + nighttime enhancements
- Location: Community-based across Newham & Tower Hamlets
- Contract: Permanent, multiple roles with flexible hours available
- Schedule: Monday to Sunday, including Bank Holidays
- Shift hours: 10:00pm –7:00am, 2–3 shifts weekly
What you will do:
- Provide high-quality personal care and emotional support to patients
- Support individuals with daily activities in their homes
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care
- Build meaningful relationships with patients and families
- Help ensure people receive care aligned with their wishes
What we are looking for:
You don’t need previous hospice experience — we welcome people from a variety of care backgrounds.
- Experience in a care role (e.g. healthcare, domiciliary, residential care or similar)
- A kind, empathetic and respectful approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to travel across Newham and Tower Hamlets
- Commitment to delivering person-centred care
