We are looking for an Assistant Manager who understands fashion, values design, and is passionate about ethical and sustainable retail. Working closely with the Retail Manager, you’ll help bring the Edition concept to life, supporting day to day operations, leading by example on the shop floor, and creating a calm, considered and inspiring customer experience.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast evolving environment, enjoys mentoring and motivating others, and has a strong eye for presentation, visual merchandising and storytelling. You’ll play a key part in maintaining the store’s clean, minimal aesthetic while driving environmentally responsible sales and exceptional customer service.

Job Description

You will be responsible for:    

  • Supporting the Retail Manager to curate your donated product through great visual merchandising with enhanced feature displays and strong commercial windows to drive sales and footfall.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest fashion trends and local market demands, identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Supporting your store’s social media exposure, helping to create engaging content that promotes the charity message and also resonates across popular platforms.
  • Championing our values, sustainability and ethical shopping ethos, inspiring volunteers and customers to join us in making a positive difference.
  • Supporting the Retail Manager in meeting agreed sales targets, ensuring income is maximised from all stock within the store and direct costs are kept to a minimum.
  • Supporting the Retail Manager in the proactive generation of donated stock, managing donated goods efficiently and effectively, and minimising any stock loss.
  • Assisting the Retail Manager with recruiting and managing volunteers, to ensure effective operation of the store.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety procedures are adhered to and support the Retail Manager to ensure that all colleagues complete their mandatory training as required.
  • Supporting the stores eBay and online marketplace operations

Key criteria:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt to competing demands/deadlines, including making quick decisions when required.
  • Awareness of fashion trends & pricing, particularly in relation to high end brands.
  • Awareness of health and safety legislation.
  • Retail supervisory/ management experience in fashion/clothing.
  • Previous experience in fashion retail visual merchandising.
  • Experience of cash handling and financial management procedures (including completion of sales records)
  • Experience in using social media effectively.
