IN 1984, THE MARC JACOBS LABEL WAS FOUNDED ALONG WITH BUSINESS PARTNER ROBERT DUFFY, AND HAS SINCE BECOME A GLOBAL BRAND.
The Associate Manager - Hardware is responsible for managing the hardware development for all Marc Jacobs handbag divisions (Outlet, Contemporary, Runway)
Essential duties and requirements:
Update and manage bill of materials for hardware in centric/TXT
Work closely with PD team on proto hardware delivery
Work closely with hardware factories on new and interesting finishes
Continuously research hardware and trim concepts looking for new materials, functionality and trends to present to Design team
Partner with local 3D printers on hardware prototypes
Track and follow up with hardware shipments for market week sampling
Manage cost negotiation and pricing updates
Maintain hardware and trim library
Develop and approve bulk ordering for color and quantity
Process invoices and closely track seasonal budget
Travel required (Asia and Italy)
5+ years in fashion product development
Hardware experience preferred
Centric experience preferred
Ability to work in fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment
Exceptional communication skills / ability to work cross-functionally
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
