ABOUT MARC: 
BORN IN NEW YORK CITY IN APRIL 1963, MARC JACOBS ATTENDED THE HIGH SCHOOL OF ART AND DESIGN AND GRADUATED FROM PARSON’S SCHOOL OF DESIGN. AS A DESIGN STUDENT, JACOBS WAS THE RECIPIENT OF SOME OF THE SCHOOL’S HIGHEST HONORS INCLUDING DESIGN STUDENT OF THE YEAR. 

IN 1984, THE MARC JACOBS LABEL WAS FOUNDED ALONG WITH BUSINESS PARTNER ROBERT DUFFY, AND HAS SINCE BECOME A GLOBAL BRAND.

Job Description

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Assist with preparing fabric developments to send to suppliers

  • Experimenting and manipulating textiles in-house to create surface treatments, then executing treatments, including wash tests

  • Creating and maintaining master fabric boards

  • Mocking up print and embroidery artworks/colorways on Photoshop

  • Help to check in sample yardage upon arrival to our in-house atelier

  • Help source materials from local suppliers when needed

  • Assist with beading or stitch trials/mock-ups when needed

  • Organizing and grouping fabric library

  • Organizing archive books

  • Create fabric receiving tags

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in textiles

  • Exceptionally organized and neat, meticulous attention to detail

  • Possesses basic knowledge of textiles and garment construction

  • Able to use Adobe Photoshop on Mac and PC

  • Proficient on Microsoft Word, Excel
