Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

The Client Services Representative key function is on-boarding of new clients and
assisting existing clients with client service related matters. This position involves
daily direct interaction with clients both internal and external through email, phone or
web meetings.

  • Provide potential clients with all Near North service offerings.  Customs clearance, international freight, USA brokerage services, consulting and compliance projects.
  • Quote pricing on brokerage services.
  • Create new accounts and ensure compliant POA documents are on file.
  • Add and maintain documents and information attached electronically to the client profile.
  • Create and maintain brokerage schedules.
  • Manage price increases and decreases.
  • Obtain business numbers for non-resident importers through CRA and guide non-resident importers with GST registration and tax implications for non-residents.
  • Liaise with 3PL partners and process 3PL referrals.
  • Send and maintain approved EDI applications.
  • Handle high volume of email both internal and external.
  • Conflict resolution with carriers, vendors, 3PL and internally to resolve issues.
  • Follow up on sales leads and referrals and provide timely response to new and existing customer's requests for assistance.


Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Qualifications

The following skills, experience and qualifications are required:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the customs brokerage industry.
  • CCS designate or equivalent experience in the industry.
  • A well rounded knowledge of all areas of customs brokerage functions including HS classification, free trade agreements, customs regulations and familiarity with all documents for all modes of transport.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and multi task responding to multiple internal and external clients quickly and efficiently.
  • above average communications skills with the ability to relay technical information to clients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Have the ability to deal with difficult people or situations in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Some CARM and RPP bond knowledge is beneficial to this role.
