Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join the team.  Candidates should be naturally curious, detailed oriented, have a sharp analytical mind, proficient with SQL, automate using scripts and have the ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical people alike.

What you'll be doing

  • Work cross-functionally within the company to understand requirements, translate business needs into data requests, develop methodologies/plans, analyze data, and present findings that are embraced/enacted.
  • Work with product and engineering to define and analyze A|B Tests, analyze product feature launches and impact.
  • Write complex SQL queries to pull and process data from multiple data sources
  • Not just pull the data, analyze and provide actionable insights.
  • Frame business problems into questions that can be answered through data analysis, and translate business needs into data requirements.
  • Create dashboards to help business keep track of important metrics
  • Provide ad hoc and regular reports on key business metrics
  • Automate repetitive tasks using scripts.

Qualifications

About you

  • BS/MS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or other highly quantitative field
  • 3-4 years of practical experience in SQL querying large and complex data sets
  • Experience in Excel including pivot tables and common functions
  • Proficient in Python, PHP, or other scripting languages as well as proven ability to work with large data sets; experience in automation.
  • Strong communication and client-facing data presentation skills
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment

Bonus points

  • Experience with MemSQL, Hadoop, and other scalable architecture
  • Experience in Machine Learning Frameworks & Models
  • Experience in tools such as Pandas, R, etc.
  • Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Tableau
  • Previous internet/mobile industry experience
