Magnum Steel Works Inc. has been in business since 2005, growing from a  12,000 square foot facility into a brand new state-of-the-art facility over 128,000 square feet.  We repair, rebuild and fabricate heavy equipment for use in the mining industries and others. 

This position oversees the daily work of the mechanics on this shift.  

• Previous experience in repair and rebuild of mining equipment (underground haulage and cutting equipment)
• Responsible for managing the mechanics on 2nd shift to include production, safety, maintenance and personnel issues.
• Ensure the job process flows effectively and efficiently from direction from 1st shift to communicating progress via email. 
• Ensure all work performed is according to customer specifications or documented procedures.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals and other materials to determine specifications, inspections and testing procedures
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics and replace hoses and fittings per print
• Ability to use torque wrenches and torque per specs
• Accountable for product quality of work performed by your crew
• Assist in training, leading and managing your crew
• Maintain professional relations with external customers
• Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment

Required:

• Expert ability to read and interpret blueprints and hydraulic schematics 
• Two (2) years prior experience as a lead or supervisor in a job shop environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Attentive to detail
• Self-starter with a sense of urgency
• Ability to work hours beyond 40 per week when needed, including weekends
• Experience with Outlook and basic spreadsheets
• Ability to effectively communicate in meetings with customers, peers, subordinates and management via e-mail and in-person
