Job Description
Maglev is looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and collaborative interns who have a drive to learn and will specialize in mechanical, aeromechanical, electromechanical and electrical engineering. They will work under the direction of a lead engineer to develop and implement project deliverables. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of mechanical, electrical, and aeronautical engineering projects.
Responsibilities
Ability to access, research, read, parse and analyze relevant data supplied by various engineers in a multidisciplinary environment
Ability to develop project documents (e.g., calculations, reports, drawings and specifications, etc.) for internal use
Assist with development of conceptual designs and coordinate with the design team under direction of the project team lead
Coordinate with other disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors)
Responsible for completing assigned technical tasks in the engineering process
Document test activities and evaluate that data to draw a conclusion with respect to specifications
Perform engineering studies and testing
Qualifications
Recent Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or Computer Science, or rising junior or senior
Skill and experience in stress analysis, GIT, GD&T, drafting and drawing
Experience with MATLAB and CAD
Experience with Microsoft Office
Strong presentation and analytical skills
Highly motivated, dynamic and detail-oriented
Strong multi-tasking, interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Additional Information
Our Lab operates within Mass Robotics in the Seaport district of Boston. This internship is on-site for at least three months. Starting dates after August 15, 2024. Please indicate your major area of interest (e.g. mechanical engineering). Remote work will not be considered.
