Cradle Mountain Hotel is nestled in the alpine woodlands at the northern end of the breathtaking Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park. This wonderful escape showcases the absolute best this region has to offer with warm and welcoming hospitality, sensational local food and wine, indulgent spa facilities and breathtaking scenery. Located approximately two hours from Launceston and four hours from Hobart, our 60 room hotel also incorporates the award-winning Altitude restaurant and stunning Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery.
Job Description
- We are looking for enthusiastic and hospitality-minded people to join our Food & Beverage team for the upcoming summer season.
- Staff accommodation and meals package available
- Please note, Cradle Mountain Hotel is not in an eligible location to be counted toward WHM visa days
What you’ll do:
Join our Food & Beverage team at Cradle Mountain Hotel for an exciting summer season. Working across our restaurant, breakfast buffet, café and bar, you'll help create memorable dining experiences for guests visiting one of Tasmania's most iconic destinations. We're seeking enthusiastic hospitality professionals who can commit to a minimum six-month period, supporting our busy season while delivering exceptional service and genuine hospitality.
You may work across a range of our food and beverage outlets, creating memorable guest experiences through exceptional service and a warm, welcoming approach. Whether you're serving in our restaurant, crafting coffees in the café, or mixing drinks at the bar, you'll engage with guests on a personal level, share recommendations, anticipate their needs, and bring a positive, can-do attitude to every interaction.
On a daily basis you will:
- Undertake general food and beverage service duties across our dining, café and bar outlets.
- Prepare and serve coffee, beverages, cocktails and bar service where applicable.
- Take orders, process payments and accurately manage cashiering duties.
- Set up and reset restaurant, function and conference spaces.
- Share menu and beverage recommendations with guests.
- Maintain high service standards across all Food & Beverage outlets.
- Work collaboratively with a supportive and energetic team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
What you’ll bring:
- Food and beverage service experience with a passion for great food showcasing local produce
- Strong bar, cocktail and mixology experience
- Barista skills (ability to manage high number of orders in a short window)
- A vibrant attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team
- Genuine interest and knowledge of beverage products such as spirits, beer, and wine.
- A reputation for providing excellent customer service, engaging in great conversations with our guests
- Valid Tasmanian Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
- Possess a Do Food Safely Certificate of completion
- Australian driver’s license
- Flexible attitude to work hours over a 7 day roster, including weekends and public holidays
