Lead, coach and shape the future of driver training at NRMA.
At NRMA, we’re passionate about helping Australians stay safe on the road. We’re looking for an experienced people leader to join our Driver Training team as a Team Leader – Driver Training, leading a workforce of trainers and instructors delivering Driver Training, Safer Drivers Course (SDC) and support the Corporate Driver Training (CDT) programs across NSW.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, driving operational excellence and delivering exceptional customer outcomes, while maintaining strong safety and compliance standards.
What You’ll Do
As Team Leader – Driver Training, you’ll play a critical role in translating operational strategy into frontline execution by:
Leading, coaching and developing a team of driving instructors, facilitators and trainers.
Supporting workforce capability, engagement and performance through coaching, ride-alongs and development activities.
Support coordinating day-to-day delivery of Driver Training, Safer Drivers Course and Corporate Driver Training programs.
Ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and service quality across all training activities.
Using performance data and operational insights to drive continuous improvement operational efficiency and utilization.
Partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure workforce resources align with customer demand and business priorities.
This role offers a balance of leadership and operational involvement, with opportunities to remain connected to the customer experience through the delivery of training programs when required.
Company Vehicle
A branded NRMA vehicle will be provided and assigned to the Team Leader for business use.
Weekend Availability
Weekend work is an essential requirement for this role. Ideally, the successful candidate will be available to work both weekend days either every weekend or every second weekend.
We understand that flexibility is important and are happy to discuss alternative arrangements with the right candidate to ensure operational requirements are met.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who can lead from the front and inspire high performance through collaboration, coaching and accountability.
Essential Experience
Experience leading operational, training, education, logistics or service delivery teams.
Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport – Car Driving Instruction)
Demonstrated people leadership experience with a strong focus on coaching and capability development.+5 years
Experience managing workforce performance, utilisation, scheduling and operational delivery.
Strong understanding of safety, compliance and risk management in a regulated environment.
Ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into action.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
Current Class C Driver Licence with a satisfactory driving record.
Current NSW Driving Instructor Licence.
Current NSW Working With Children Check.
Highly Regarded
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE).
Experience within driver training, transport, field operations or workplace learning environments.
Experience supporting workforce planning, operational improvement or business transformation initiatives.
Exposure to digital learning platforms or technology-enabled training solutions.
