Job Description
This position is for an experienced Learning & Development Trainer who holds Mechanical and/or Auto Electrical qualifications. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and delivering training for front-line employees (such as patrols, tow truck drivers, and driver trainers) and managers within the NRMA, primarily focused on Roadside Delivery.
What You'll Do
Key tasks involve creating learning experiences to equip team members with skills required for customer service and member support. Working collaboratively within the Roadside training team and with business stakeholders, the role includes conducting needs analyses, creating and delivering training programs across various formats, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and organisational values.
There are opportunities for further professional development, such as specialised commercial training in road safety. The position is based at Sydney Olympic Park and requires travel to all NRMA sites and contractor locations Nationally, including regional and remote areas, to deliver consistent training. When not travelling, hybrid work arrangements are available, allowing for some work-from-home flexibility.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Designing learning materials and programs using multiple platforms and tools.
- Applying a blended learning approach that combines e-learning, virtual sessions, self-directed learning, and in-person workshops.
- Facilitating and delivering training with consistency and quality through both in-person and virtual formats.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to identify skill gaps, set learner priorities, and implement learning initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or similar
- Qualified Mechanic or Automotive Electrician
- Holding a current Class C drivers' licence is essential
- Up to date on current and future trends in automotive technology and design
- Excellent facilitation skills, both online and face to face, to frontline teams
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, with a background in the automotive industry
- Strong instructional design skills across a variety of platforms, video and tools including Articulate, Canva, Ed-App and Vyond
- An ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
- Curiosity – always looking for ways to improve to meet future needs
- The drive to take ownership and accountability for your portfolio/projects
- A passion for learning - seeking to continually develop your own knowledge and skills
