Job Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Product Data Analyst who can help us maintain and continuously improve our industry leading transaction categorization engine. This person will also be a critical thought partner as they collaborate with the Product General Manager on the Data Enhancement team. 

What you’ll do:

  • Monitor system performance and calculate success metrics

  • Work with Product Management and Engineering to define, scope, and create new features to improve the classification & categorization engine

  • Manage quality improvement processes and ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner

  • Research merchants and locations to augment system coverage

  • Plan, design, develop and perform quality assessments in the areas of Top Offenders, System Transaction Rule Creation/Update, Confidence Test Creation/Update, Validation of Model Predictions to document and evaluate performance and data integrity.

  • Configure, operate and develop manual and/or automated methods, processes and procedures to test output or input based on data compliance, quality and use requirements as established by product management, client specifications, and governance programs

  • Performs regular and ad hoc reviews, audits, and investigations of data activity and integrity; prepares reports and summaries of findings

  • Produces and updates guidelines and documentation of data quality development processes, procedures and standards

What you will need to be successful:

  • Strong experience with SQL

  • A serious passion for working with data & comfort with its inherent messiness

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency with data analysis functions in Excel

  • Prior work experience in data analytics or related field

  • BS (Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar) or BA (Psychology, Philosophy, Linguistics, or similar)

  • A lifelong love of learning


  • Prior experience with probability theory & statistical analytics, Postgres, Ruby, BI and/or visualization tools

  • Prior experience using Regular Expressions
