Job Description

MX is seeking an experienced, talented Infrastructure Systems Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to join the engineering team at MX. You’ll be bringing your talent and expertise to continue building and scaling our highly available and distributed SaaS platform.

You will be making an impact by…

  • Designing infrastructure, network, and automated systems to support distributed architecture across multiple data centers

  • Continuing to scale our highly available 10/40 gig network infrastructure

  • Designing and implementing the next generation of tools to manage configuration and hardware monitoring of large server clusters and networking infrastructure

  • Forecasting and planning for the infrastructure needs of a fast-growing SaaS company and finding ways to improve efficiency

  • Collaborating with other Infrastructure, DevOps, and various Engineering team members to detect and resolve infrastructure problems

  • Maintaining highly available and redundant network infrastructure and systems that serve millions of users, and 1000’s of requests per second

You will contribute by using your…

  • BS in Information Systems or Information Technology, related field experience, or both

  • Proficiency designing, scaling and implementing network infrastructure (firewalls, and L2/L3 switching/routing)

  • Proficiency working in Linux environments, particularly with networking and iptables

  • Experience managing driver, firmware and other hardware updates across hundreds of servers in multiple data centers

  • Experience with distributed systems and high uptime requirements

You will stand-out with your prior experience (design, configuration, scaling, troubleshooting, and monitoring) and familiarity in some of the following:

  • Dell iDRAC, PERC and Linux host-based management of Dell hardware

  • Palo Alto firewall/routing, Brocade/Juniper/Arista L2/L3 switching/routing, BGP, VPN

  • Ubuntu/Linux performance and network configuration

  • KVM and OpenNebula virtualization

  • BIND DNS, Linux DHCPd, Active Directory/LDAP, PXE

  • Netbox (IP/Infrastructure Asset Management), Observium and Solarwinds network monitoring
